Nutcrackers, Smokers, Pyramids, and Wooden Ornaments, are associated with the premier Wood Craftsman Christian Ulbricht. The Ulbricht family legacy of creating world-renowned nutcrackers, smokers, pyramids and ornaments has flourished.

Nestled in the heart of the Erzgebirge mountain range lies Seiffen, Germany, known to many as the epicenter of the wooden toy industry. Strong traditions have shaped this former mining town, and it was in 1928 that the Ulbricht family began building their highly regarded nutcrackers, smokers, pyramids and ornaments.

Although woodworking had been in the Ulbricht family for centuries, it was during this interwar period that Otto Ulbricht, the family's patriarch, began selling his handmade wooden crafts. World War II presented many challenges for Ulbricht's business, and the family was forced to relocate to West Germany to escape communist rule. Despite this turmoil, the passion and drive of the Ulbricht family to create the most unique and inventive wooden Christmas relics never ceased.

Over time, the torch was passed from Otto to his son, Christian. The company thrived under Christian Ulbricht and following the reunification of Germany, the Ulbrichts reclaimed their roots in the Ore Mountains while maintaining operations in Lauingen, Germany, where their famous wooden crafts are still designed and made today.
