Blank Angels of Grünhainichen Germany
Angel Orchestra by Christine Blank Workshop
Outfitted in the Blank trademark of “pleated skirts,” these angels herald the good tidings for the season. Heralding Angels playing musical instruments is a well-loved motif in German ornaments. They are often seen in the top tier of traditional pyramids as well as on tree decorations and standalone figures. The painstaking work of creating these figurines can be seen in the careful detailing. Instead of a halo, each angel has a crown with a star on its forehead.
